Antarctic Shipping S.A. was created in 2002 by a group of former naval officers with the goal of using the former Piloto Pardo ship/vessel for tourism trips to the Antarctic Peninsula. Well known by one of the board members and, renowned for its longtime service at the Chilean Navy, the ship was purchased with the aim of revamping it into an expedition cruise ship for passengers in search of an unforgettable experience. In 2003, 4 major investors joined the company bringing both Chilean and American capital, all of them major players in the real estate, agro-industry , telecommunications and communications markets.

The purpose of this company is to offer the right ships that meet all safety and quality standards required by the demanding market. The company’s commercial headquarters are located in Santiago. Antarctic Shipping S.A. is proud to be the first Chilean company to boast a cruise ship featuring trips to the Antarctic. Our unforgettable experience of touring the Antarctic and neighboring islands runs from November- March and lasts for 11 days.

It has many facilities such as Main Dining Room (capacity for 100 passengers), Bar, Library, Auditorium / Projection Lounge, Heliport, Mud Room, Fitness room / Sauna , Sick bay / First Aid (doctor on board), Boutique, Passenger´s Bridge .
