Nakurmiik!
Welcome to Cruise North Expeditions!
Our first-ever tour of the Northwest Passage. Cruise North is a very special company. Owned and operated by and for the Inuit of the region we visit, the company is an investment in protecting the past, and at the same time, preparing for the future. Our top priorities are cultural preservation, community investment and environmental commitment.
With each expedition our guests help us to realize our goals. Inuit have lived on this land and navigated these waters for hundreds of years, and are the best people to welcome visitors. With Cruise North local Inuit do just that, working as expedition guides and hosts on the ship.

Cruise North operates a unique on-board training program, where Inuit youth are taught a wide variety of skills, including guiding, cultural interpretation, zodiac driving, customer service, hotel management, and even ship navigation. This program has many success stories, including Mae Ningiuruvik’s. Mae began as a trainee while still in high school, and is now studying marine navigation. She is on her way to becoming the first Inuk Navigation Officer, and plans to captain a Cruise North ship one day.
Hiring locally not only makes for an authentic passenger experience, but is also an investment into the communities of Canada’s Arctic, where economic diversity and unique employment opportunities are scarce. Our expeditions are friendly, casual, and above all, authentic. We invite you to join us for a truly unique experience with Cruise North. In the Arctic, nobody gets you closer.
